"Lirico-dramatic tenor Sergey Gavrilov is a soloist of our theatre for the second year. His beautiful, gentle timbre voice, artistry, stage fascination let him to create impressive types on the stage.
In opera of P.Tchaikovsky "IOLANTA" in the part of Vandemaund Sergery Gavrilov is a romantic knight with deep experience and poetical inspiration, who is faithful for his deep moral principles tender in love with innocent blind princess Iolanta. But in opera G.Verdi "IL TROVATORE" in the part of Manrico we can see him like manly fighter forgiving his sworn enemy, solicitous son and steadfast in love friend.
Every time when Sergey Gavrilov comes to Ufa, every performance with his participation is a striking event for our spectators and for all cultural life of our city.
Our theatre concluded a treaty with Sergey Gavrilov for execution following parts in operas:

  • V.A.Mozart "DIE ZAUBERFLÖTE". Tamino.
  • P.Tchaikovsky "IOLANTA". Vandemaund.
  • P.Tchaikovsky "EUGEN ONEGIN". Lensky.
  • G.Verdi "LA TRAVIATA". Alfredo.
  • G.Verdi "IL TROVATORE". Manrico.

Askar Abdrazakov

The prize-winner of international contests, the national actor of Bashkortostan.

"I have known Sergey for many years, we met in Athens on a contest of Maria Kallas in 1995. Perhaps, at that time his voice didn't move me like now.
There wasn't a confidence in his voice, singer tone was imperfect. But nowdays Sergey has become a different person. I can hear his splendid technique of sound with confidence and nobleness.
His spinto tenor and professional execution nobody left indifferent and his characters captivate us with sincerity and depth."

Oleg Judin

A new admirer of opera art and Sergey Gavrilov's voice (synopsis).

"I have never been to opera theatre before. If somebody would tell me that I'll come to opera and get so great pleasure I couldn't believe that man. But my meeting with Sergey Gavrilov.
But in April 2005 I was on the performance at the St.Petersburg music theatre "Zazerkalie". "L'ELISIR D'AMORE" G.Donizetti was on at the theatre that day. I was deeply impressed by the music, singing, acting, the play.
I liked Nemorino performed by Segrey Gavrilov. After his aria in the second act the spectators clapped and cheered. There was no end to the applause when it was over. There was an outburst of applauses after every aria or duet.
Singers were strewn with flowers.
Bravo Donizetti!
Bravo tenor Sergey Gavrilov!
Bravo Alexandr Petrov the stage director!
Bravo conductor Pavel Bubelnikov!
Bravo "Zazerkalie"!

Oleg Judin, a new opera fan."

La Cenerentola" in St.Petersburg "Zazerkalie"

"It's seems incredibly! It is impossible to believe! But though it's the truth! The masterpiece of the great maestro Rossini can be performed in St.Petersburg!
In Russia this Rossini's great opera haven't produced for more than 50 years because of difficulty. But it took place in St.Petersburg in June 2007 in "Zazerkalie" Music Theatre.
"LA CENERENTOLA" G.Rossini is a very interesting project where Sergey Gavrilov sings the part of Don Ramiro. Now he is the one Ramiro in St.Petersburg who can perform this role perfectly..."

"Steps to Skill"

Art of opera singing is a commencement and a summit of all arts. It is a commencement, because all people have a voice.
And all people can sing from their childhood at school chorus, music student band, at the party with friends...
But for opera singing singer has to study hard and learn a good method of singing. Develop his voice perfectly. He has to master of functioning his resonance and breath. And it is a little difficult, because vocal music instrument is inside of singer's body, although the violinist or pianist has his instrument in his hands and can see and control his playing. But when singer becomes a master of knowing, using, tuning, sounding his instrument the art of opera singing becomes a summit of all arts.
Every time I strive for perfection.
For many years I have listened to old records of Italian masters, visited different master-classes, read old books and tried practise those knowledge.
On graduating of Saint-Petersburg Conservatoire I wasn't satisfied with result and took private lessons from a Russian baritone Vladimir Bobrov who knew something more about an old Italian method of singing and learned from Italian vocal teacher.
Now I sing on the stage and feel great joy when I can give pleasure to my audience.
